The Changing Man is the one to be with here. In a race where not many can be described as progressive, The Changing Man most certainly can, and after rattling off a hat-trick was possibly a bit unlucky not to score at Taunton, a final-flight blunder costing him momentum. He did little wrong when bumping into the classy Itchy Feet at Huntingdon last time, a race that looked competitive beforehand and proved to be so.
If he’s to run in the Pertemps Final itself then he needs to be winning this and going up some 8/9lb in the weights, so you can guarantee if that’s the case, he’ll be doing his best.
Hardy Bloke is going to attract a lot of attention after being purchased by Darren Yates (presumably with the Festival in mind) after his eyecatching effort at Leopardstown last time, but that effort came with the application of a tongue-tie, which is missing here. That raises a question, and enough of one to side with The Changing Man here.
