It’s BOTHWELL BRIDGE that catches the eye on his reappearance here, as first time up may well be the time to be with him.
He looked a novice chaser of some potential when jumping well and scoring with a bit in hand at Sandown first time up last year, form that looks strong now, with Mahler’s Promise and Bobhopeornohope subsequent winners from the race. After that, though, it all went south, falling early at Kempton on his next start, then finding the ground too soft at Newbury and bursting a blood vessel on his final start of the year.
All of which leaves him on a mark just 3lb higher than the start of last season. This gives him a chance to get his chasing career back on track and start to unlock the potential he showed that day at Sandown.
